Double Basseiarges Trilobite - Jorf, Morocco

This is a gorgeous double specimen of a rarely seen trilobite from Jorf, Morocco, Basseiarges mellishae. The shell preservation from this locality is very distinctive, with an almost plastic like look to it. The rock at the locality is partially metamorphised, and has some glass-like characteristics with lots of quartz seams in it.

Basseiarges is a fairly rare trilobite and this is a natural double specimen. Both specimens are about 1" long which seems to be about average size for the species. There preservation and preparation work on this piece is fantastic.
