Rare 11" Argonauticeras Ammonite - Amber Colored Crystals

This is a rare Argonauticeras collected near Befandriana, Madagascar which has been cut in half and polished. Many of the inner chambers are lined with amber colored calcite crystals. I have not seen any other similar Argonauticeras ammonites for sale, and this is one of only three I was able to acquire recently. Each half of the ammonite is 11" wide, 2.5" thick and weighs over 9 lbs.

Like most large ammonites there is some repair work, to where they had been broken in the ground and put back together.
