Pyritized Ammonite Fossil Pendant - Sterling Silver
This is a beautiful pendant featuring a cut and polished ammonite fossil which has been partially replaced by pyrite (fools gold) during fossilization. These ammonites are Cretaceous in age, living at the same time as dinosaurs dominated the land. The polishing allows the stunning inner chambers to be seen which have been replaced by agate over millions of years.
Ammonites are an extinct type of cephalopod related to the modern day octopus and squid.
