Pleistocene Camel Tooth - Florida

This is a well preserved fossil tooth of the Pleistocene aged camel/llama, Palaeolama mirifica.

Palaeolama mirifica "Stout-Legged Llama", was a herbivorous animal that bears great resembleance to both the modern day llama and the camel. It grew to about 4 feet tall and it's teeth are commonly found in Florida associated with fossils from other ice age mammals such as horses, mammoths and sloths.
