Pink and Orange Polished Fossil Nautilus - France

This is a very colorful fossil Nautilus (Cenoceras) from France. It's been polished and the alternating bands of orange and pinks hues is very beautiful. It is 4 inches wide and rests on a free-standing block of sculpted, matrix. These nautilus fossils are fairly rare and are Lower Jurassic in age, Toarcian Stage or approximately 174-183 million years old.
