31x15" Phareodus & Knightia Fossil Fish Plate (Free Shipping)
These are two nicely detailed fossils contained on one piece of matrix. They consist of a 5.5" long Knightia eocaena, and also 12" Phareodus testis. Phareodus is of one of the more uncommon fossil fish found in the Green River Formation. Phareodus has a mouthful of sharp pointy teeth making is a voracious lake predator. In fact the name Phareodus actually means "to have tooth" Spines from other fish such as Mioplosus and Priscacara have frequently been found preserved in it's stomach.
They are from the Eocene aged, Green River Formation of Wyoming. They are both nicely detailed and on a 31 x 15" piece of matrix that has been backed with hardie board with a combined thickness roughly 1.25" thick. It would look wonderful framed or just mounted on a wall. If you would like us to mount a hanging bracket on the back please let us know.
