Phaetonellus, Gerastos, Cyphaspis & Phacops Association!
This is a spectacular association of four different types of trilobites, eight individuals in total. Front and center is a rare Phaetonellus which is about .9" long. There are five Gerastos trilobites, one of which is prepared ventrally with the largest also being about .9" long. There is also a perfectly enrolled phacopid trilobite, though I've been unable to determine the exact genus and species. And then if you look closely there is also a little baby Cyphaspis which is only a few millimeters long!
Preparation of the entire piece is exceptionally well done, with no restoration, and doesn't even appear to have any repair. The shell of the trilobites is nicely detailed with none of the burning seen with lesser quality specimens, and exhibits a beautiful multi-toned coloration.
