Partially Enrolled Phacops Trilobite On Limestone Pedastal

This is a partially enrolled Phacopid trilobite collected near Mrakib, Morocco. Trilobites enrolled for defensive purposes and are frequently found preserved in this state. This specimen is nicely prepared, and has good shell detail, including defined eye facets in both eyes. The hard limestone around it has been sculpted so that it displays nicely on a pedestal of rock.
