Nicely Prepared Hollardops Trilobite - 2"

This is a nicely prepared example of Middle Devonian trilobite Hollardops mesocristata. This specimen comes from near Foum Zguid Morocco which has nicer preservation than the majority of these trilobites from other localities. It's arched over in a "climbing" position and the genal spines have been prepared completely free of the surrounding rock.

If it was outstretched this specimen would be a bit more than 2 inches in length. The individual eye facets in it's compound eyes are well preserved. There is a repaired crack and a bit of weathering on the left hand side of the thorax but no restoration.
