Nice, 2.9" Struveaspis Trilobite - Jorf, Morocco
This is a large, and very well preserved specimen of the small-eyed phacopid, Struveaspis bignoni. Two defining characteristics of Struveaspis that seperate it from most phacopids is it's smooth shell and very tiny eyes with few lenses. These trilobites are quarried at Jorf near Erfoud, Morocco. This particular specimen is exceptionally nice being large, perfectly prone, inflated, and well prepared. The only restoration is some minor shell restoration along the repaired crack running diagonally through the head head and left side of the body, about 2-3% in total.
