Mosasaur, Enchodus & Shark Tooth - Top Quality Prep
This is a fantastic, natural association of several different fossils from the Cretaceous phosphate beds in the Oulad Abdoun Basin of Morocco. There is a 1.5" long Prognathodon (a large Mosasaur) tooth, a 1.6" long tooth of the fanged fish Enchodus, a Serratolamna shark tooth as well as many bone fragments including a fish vertebrae. The preparation on this piece is superb brining all of the fossils out in high relief against the rock
It comes from the phosphate deposits in the Oulad Abdoun Basin of Morocco. These deposits are mined for phosphate, one of Moroccos biggest exports. The fossils are collected as a byproduct of the mining operations, saving them from certain destruction by the rock crusher.
