Ginko and Metasequoia Plant Fossils - Cache Creek
Here is an association of two plant fossils, Metasequoia occidentalis a "Dawn Redwood" and a Ginko Leaf. It is from the Eocene aged McAbee deposits of British Columbia. These deposits were formed as part of a shallow lake which beautifully preserved plant material in a fine layer of silt. As of about a year ago this locality is no accessible to collecting and material is becoming hard to come by.
