8.5" Wide Pyritized Ammonite Fossil - Germany

This is a large, 8.5" wide Harpoceras ammonite fossil from the from the Posidonia Shale of Germany. They have been compressed and are preserved on a black slate in a partially pyritized state. There appears to be an impression of a fin of a fossil fish overlying a lower portion of the ammonite. A really nice display piece.
