Large 5.7" Nautilus (Cenoceras) Fossil - France

This is a large fossil Nautilus (Cenoceras) from France. These nautilus fossils are fairly rare and are Lower Jurassic in age, Toarcian Stage or approximately 174-183 million years old. This specimen has been expertly prepared so it rests aesthetically on a free-standing pedestal of rock. It's quite large for at 5.7" wide and the entire piece stands about 5" tall.
