Jurassic Aged Cycad (Zamites) & Seed Fern (Pachypteris)

This is a rare association of the Jurassic aged fossil plant Zamites feneonis and Pachypteris. Zamites is a extinct type of Cycad, a seed plant with thick trunks and pinnately compound leaves. Pachypteris a type of seed fern. They lived near the coast of the Tethys ocean in what is now alpine France (the Jura mountains).
