Incredible 8" Lower Jurassic Crocodile Skull - North Whitby, England

This is a phenomenal 8.1" long skull of a Lower Jurassic crocodile (Steneosaurus cf. bollensis) from Sandsend, North Yorkshire, England. It is a very rare piece that came out of an old collection. It is quite three dimensional and well prepared.

Steneosaurus is an extinct genus of teleosaurid crocodyliform from the Early to Middle Jurassic. Fossils of Steneosaurus have been found in England, France, Germany, Switzerland and Morocco. Most species grew up to about 10 feet in length.
