Huge 8.8" Douvilleiceras Ammonite With Cleoniceras

This is a huge example of the ammonite Douvilleiceras mammilatum from the Mahajanga Province of Madagascar. It's Upper Cretaceous in age, or approximately 110 million years old. It still has much of it's shell and a mother-of-pearl type iridescence to it.

There is a second smaller ammonite found in the same matrix attached to it. It's a 2 1/4" wide Cleoniceras ammonite which has been polished revealing the "oak leaf" suture pattern under it's shell. Really a cool piece.
