Fossil Stingray & Palm From Wyoming - 47" Wide
This is a impressive, 47" wide display piece from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. There is a partial palm leaf on the rock and a fossil stingray (Heliobatis radians) was been inlaid into the rock next to it. It was collected quite a few years back at the Fossil Lake Safari Quarry near Kemmerer, WY. The stingray would have been about 17" long if outstretched and they are one of the rare components of the Green River Formation Fauna.
The entire piece has an irregular, natural looking edge to it and has been backed with wood for stability and to make it easy to wall mount. There is a repaired crack through the middle of the ray and the bottom third of the tail has been restored
Due to the large size of the piece, it will be put on a pallet and shipped via freight. Freight costs will be billed separately after purchase, so please contact us if you want a shipping quote prior to purchase. Freight will probably run between $200-400 within the continental US.
