Fossil Sperm Whale Tooth - 3 Inches (Miocene)
This is a Miocene aged fossil sperm whale tooth which was a river find in Northern Florida. These whale teeth are commonly found associated with Megalodon and other shark teeth but are much rarer.
While it came from a sperm whale, identifying it to the genus level is impossible. This is because there were 14 known genera of Sperm Whales living in the past compared to 2 today. The size and shape of teeth between these types overlap significantly.
