Fossil Bird Tracks - Green River Formation, Utah
This is a 6.8" plate of fossil bird tracks from the Green River Formation, Utah. This plate has 2 tracks, from two different birds. These tracks are likely sandpiper, plover or other small wading shore bird and were left on the southwestern shore of Eocene, Lake Uinta nearly 50 million years ago. The tracks are now preserved in a platy limestone horizon known as the "Soldier Summit Fossil Track Horizon". This specimen has a crack repair.
