Fossil Ant-Like Leaf Beetle, Moth Fly, & Flower Stamen in Baltic Amber
This is a nicely detailed, 44 million year old ant-like leaf beetle (order Coleoptera - family Aderidae) and moth fly (family Psychodidae) preserved in Baltic amber. At the center of the amber, a flower stamen and oak stellate hairs can be seen. The beetle is about 2.5mm in length.
As a reminder, most inclusions in Baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
