Excellent 1.28" Tyrannosaurid Tooth - Two Medicine Formation

This is a nicely preserved Tyrannosaurid tooth from the Two Medicine Formation (Judith River Group) of Montana. This formation is approximately 70 million years old, or about 5 million years old than the Hell Creek Formation which produces T-Rex. There are three described Tyrannosaurids from the Two Medicine Formation (Judith River Group), Albertosaurus, Gorgosaurus and Daspletosaurus. Their teeth of notoriously hard to tell apart with very subtle differences. It's not uncommon to show the same tooth to two experts and have them label it as a different Tyrannosaurid. Based on the size of the tooth it's likely Albertosaurus libratus or Gorgosaurus.

This tooth is 1.28" long, very robust with nice enamel and only minor wear to the tip. The outer serrations are worn but the inner ones are mostly present. There are a couple of crack repairs and a gap fill (restoration) at the base of the tooth on one side.
