Double Metacanthina (Asteropyge) - Lhandar Formation

This is a beautiful double specimen of Metacanthina issoumourensis often incorrectly referred to as an "Asteropyge" or “Kayserops”. The chocolate colored shell contrasts nicely against the pinkish-brown rock and the preparation work is very nice. It has wonderful surface detail and the facets in it's eyes can easily be seen. It comes from the Lower Devonian rocks around Alnif, Morocco. The only restoration is to repair some minor shell damage on the tail of one trilobite.
