Detailed Fossil Marsh Beetle and Fungus Gnat in Baltic Amber
This is a beautifully detailed, 44 million year old fossil marsh beetle (order Coleoptera - family Scirtidae) and a dark-winged fungus gnat (family Sciaridae) within Baltic amber. This beetle is about 3mm wide in a 21 x 16 x 4.5mm piece of amber.
