Beautifully Colored 3 1/2 Inch Crotalocephalina (Crotalocephalus)

This is a nice large example of the Cheiruridae trilobite, Crotalocephalina gibbus (formerly Crotalocephalus giffis). It has a very distinctive elongated shape and the pleural spines may have helped it crawl across a soft seafloor. It has beautiful coloration and at 3 1/2 inches long is quite large for the species. I "reprepped" this specimen to expose additional details and it has no restoration work done to it.
