Beautiful 2.1" Dickisicidaris Urchin - Rare Species
This is a large, 2.1" wide Dickisicidaris turbeti sea urchin from the Middle Cretaceous deposits near Garsif, Morocco. The surrounding limestone matrix has been painstakingly removed from surrounding most of it, but it was left still embedded in the limestone to create an aesthetic display. This is one of the rarer types of fossil urchins found in the area.
