Beautiful 1.6" Hoploscaphites Nodosus Ammonite

This is a beautiful Hoploscaphites nodosus from the Pierre Shale of South Dakota. It was found inside of a hard concretion and the rock had to be meticulously prepared away. The shell is in great condition and all of the distinctive ridges can easily be seen. It stands upright on a base of rock.
