Bargain 2.37" Auriculatus Shark Tooth - Dakhla, Morocco

This is a sharply serrated tooth of the mega-toothed shark, Carcharocles auriculatus. It is believed Carcharocles auriculatus was closely related to the Megalodon but lived nearly 10-20 million years earlier.

This tooth was collected from the Late Eocene aged deposits of the Western Sahara Desert in Morocco. It's 2.37" long and has sharp serrations/tip as intact cusps. Nearly all of auriculatus teeth are restored and there is a repaired crack through the center of the root and lower part of the tooth.
