Articulated Fossil Amphibian (Edops) Hand/Arm - Texas
This rare specimen comes from a private lease in Young County, Texas. It's an articulated fossil Edops craigi hand/distal arm complete with claws, phalanxes, metacarpals, carpals, radius, and ulna bone(s). Most of the bones were found together, with a couple being composites (bones from another Edops). When articulated, the specimen measures about 9.4" long by 4.5" wide. Both the radius and ulna have some repaired cracks with minor gap fill restoration.
This specimen is accompanied by a large riker display case. Each bone will be wrapped individually and labelled so it can be pieced back together upon arrival.
Edops craigi was the largest early temnospondyl of the Late Carboniferous/Early Permian.
