Amazingly Prepped Oklahoma Kainops Trilobite

Here is a perfectly preserved Kainops raymondi which I collected this spring from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma and just recently prepared. This formation in Oklahoma produces some of the best preserved and most 3D trilobites in the world which are highly sought after by collectors. This one is just over an inch long measuring around the curve and took several hours of preparation time using air abrasives under microscope.

Kainops is often confused with a similar genus found in the same layers Paciphacops, but one of the differentiating factors is the Kainops has many more eye facets. These facets can easily been seen in the marvelous specimen.
