.98" Partial Ornithomimus Hand Claw - Montana
This
is a partial hand claw of a small theropod dinosaur, most likely Ornithomimus. It was collected from the Two Medicine Formation (Judith River Group) of Eastern Montana. It's missing the tip but otherwise is well preserved, and even dinosaur claws this complete are rare finds.
Ornithomimus was a swift bipedal theropod which fossil evidence indicates was covered in feathers, equipped with a small toothless beaked head that may indicate an omnivorous diet.
