.98" Nanotyrannus Tooth - Montana
This is a .98" long tooth of the Tyrannosaurid, Nanotyrannus lancensis. It comes from the Hell Creek Formation of Montana. The enamel is a little worn, but it has very serrations and only minor feeding damage to the tip. There has been one crack repair about 1/3 of the way from the tip, but no restoration. Comes with an acrylic case.
While there are many paleontologists that feel that Nanotyrannus is not a valid genus and simply represents a juvenile T-Rex recent fossil finds that are being published on clearly indicate it is a separate genus from Tyrannosaurus rex.
