9.9" Carboniferous Fossil Fern (Odontopteris) - France

This is a well defined fossil fern (Odontopteris minor) from the Late Carboniferous-aged Montceau-les-Mines Lagerstatte of France. This formation is Stephanian Stage in age, or approximately 300 million years old. The fern measures 9.9" long and is nicely centered on a rectangular-cut, 10.55 x 5.3" thick slab of rock.
