9.5" Pennsylvanian, Fossil Microbial Mat - Oklahoma

This is Pennsylvanian aged trace fossil from the Hartshorne Sandstone of Oklahoma. Also known as "MISS" (Microbially Induced Sedimentary Structures) it's the fossilized ichnofossils left behind by a colony of microbes, similar to the formation of stromatolites.. The piece is 9.5x8.1" and comes with an acrylic display stand.
