6.4" Wide Fossil Brittle Star (Palaeocoma) - Whitby, England
This is a beautifully preserved brittle star (starfish) fossil of the species Palaeocoma cf. milleri. It has been prepped free from the rock that it was found in and measures 6.4" long (longest measurement). Cross sections of other marine organisms can be seen scattered throughout this sedimentary rock. It was collected from the Lower Jurassic age Lower Lias - Daveoi Zone of North Yorkshire, England.
