8" Hadrosaur Caudal Vertebrae With Process

This is a caudal (tail) vertebrae from a Hadrosaur, more commonly referred to as a duck-bill dinosaur. It comes from the Two Medicine Formation formation in Montana which is Late Cretaceous or approximately 70 million years old. There are several described Hadrosaurs from this formation so, definitively assigning an insolated vertebrae to a specific genus/species is difficult.

Unlike most verts that are found, this one still retains much of it's process. It's been broken and repaired in several places, which is typical of dinosaur material. The vertebrae is approximately 8 inches tall including the process and based on shape likely would have come from close to the upper part of the tail, close to the pelvis. Comes with the pictured display stand.
