.8" Detailed Crane Fly (Tipulidae) Fossil - Super Detail!
This is a .8" wide, superbly detailed fossil crane fly (family Tipulidae), collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils and insect fauna.
These crane flies are almost never this well preserved!
