8.9" Colorful, Hubbard Basin Petrified Wood Slab (Rip-Cut) - Nevada
This is a 8.9" wide, richly colored rip-cut slab of Hubbard Basin petrified wood which has been highly polished to a glossy finish on one side. It displays beautiful hues of browns, pinks, and whites. The slab has been backed with fiberglass/epoxy for stability and it comes with an acrylic display stand.
Found only in Elko County, Nevada, Hubbard Basin petrified wood is becoming increasingly popular with collectors. This variety of petrified wood is characterized by its tan or white-blue coloring that is often enhanced by red, orange, or brown patterns. Most Hubbard Basin petrified wood is Miocene-aged fossilized spruce wood. One of the main reasons collectors enjoy this petrified wood is because the growth rings are often nicely preserved and show through the vibrant patterns.
