.77" Partial Tyrannosaurid Tooth - Montana
This is a partial Tyrannosaurid tooth from the Hell Creek Formation of Montana. The tip is worn down from feeding but it has decent enamel and fine inner serrations and there is extensive wear on the inner tooth surface from wearing against another tooth while feeding. The tooth appears to be a premaxilla tooth from the location of the carinae. The teeth of tyrannosaurs are notoriously hard to tell apart with very minor differences. It's not uncommon for expert on the material look at the exact same tooth and both put a different ID on it. So I'm simply going to label it as Tyrannosaurid. It comes in an acrylic display case.
