This is a fossil "March Fly", Plecia pealei from the Eocene aged Green River Formation in Wyoming. It's .74" wide and shows quite a bit of detail including wing and leg preservation, and is especially magnificent when viewed under magnification. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils and insect fauna.
