7.6" Russian Ammonite (Speetoniceras) - Argyllite Base
This is a large 7.6" wide Speetoniceras versicolor ammonite fossil from the Lower Cretaceous deposits of the Volga River in Russia. It has been beautifully prepared and mounted in a base of polished agate and argyllite. This makes for an absolutely gorgeous decorative piece that could be display either laying down on a flat surface, hanging or on a display stand. There is some restoration to the exterior of the ammonite for aesthetic purposes.
