7.25" Indeterminate Theropod Limb Bone - Judith River
This is a 7.25" long limb bone from an indeterminate theropod from the Judith River Formation in Montana. One end of the bone is missing and the other is weathered so it is hard to make a definitive identification. The surface of the bone is beautiful and smooth with interesting surface patterns. The fossil has been stabilized to prevent further breakage. The broken end allows you to see that the bone is hollow.
There are various theropod dinosaurs from the formation that this particular bone could belong to. The likely candidates would be some sort of tyrannosaur, Dromaeosaurus, or Ornithomimus.
