7.2" Long Polished Petrified Wood Standup

This is a thick slab of Early Triassic aged (220 million year old) petrified Araucaria wood from Ambilobe, Madagascar. One side has been polished to a mirror like finish allowing the beautifully colored wood detail to be seen. It's 7.2x3.2 inches, 1 1/2 inches thick and weighs about 2 1/4 lbs. It was originally part of a book end pair that split due to natural fracture in the rock but looks great as a stand alone piece. The bottom is lined with black felt.
