7.2" Fossil Fish (Cimolichthys) Jaw Section - Kansas

This is a 7.2" fossil fish (Cimolichthys) jaw section from the Niobrara Formation, Gove County, Kansas. This interesting, well preserved specimen highlights six fearsome looking teeth. This specimen has very little restoration that was expertly done.

Cimolichthys is an extinct genus of late Cretaceous fish that is related to modern Lancefish and Lizardfish.‭ ‬Their bodies were covered with large scutes that provided protection against predators.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
