7.1" Fossil Salamander (Chelotriton) - Gračanica, Bosnia

This is an amazing 7.1" fossil salamander (Chelotriton paradoxus) from Bosnia-Herzegovina. It is a very well preserved specimen with excellent bone preservation. The rock that it was prepped from has been cut flat along its edges and measures 8.2 x 6.5". The rock in which the salamander was found is rather thin so a backing has been applied for stability.

Chelotriton is an extinct salamander that closely resembles two living salamanders Tylototriton and Echinotriton.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

There are a couple repaired cracks through the rock/fossil. Small spots of gap fill restoration were required within these cracks.
