.62" Detailed Fossil Dragonfly (Odonata) Larva - France
This is a fossil dragonfly larva (order Odonata), collected from an Oligocene-aged (Stampien/Rupelian) shale deposit at Mine de Gaude in Southern France. The larva has been covered by a thin sealant to highlight its detail. A second insect (order Diptera?) can be seen next to the larva.
This is part of an old collection that we recently acquired. The collection includes a variety of insect fossils from around Southern France, collected over a span of 50 years by a woman with PhDs in paleontology and pharmacology.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
