6" Rhynchodercetis “Needle Fish” Fossil
This is a predatory "needle fish", Rhynchodercetis sp. from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. These fish are found in limestone layers higher up in the formation that the dinosaurs such as Spinosaurus. Rhynchodercetis is one of the rarer fish on this assemblage. It's Upper Cretaceous, Cenomian Stage or 93-100 million years old.
