6.8" Camarasaurus Metatarsal (Toe Bone) - Wyoming
This is a beautifully preserved, 6.8" Metatarsal (Toe Bone) from the huge sauropod dinosaur, Camarasaurus grandis. It was collected several years back from a private lease in Big Horn County, Wyoming. The bone is in excellent condition with only some very minor erosion to the ends, and two repaired cracks.
Camarasauru was a genus of sauropod dinosaur commonly found in the Morrison Formation. It was quite bulky, reaching lengths of up to 80 feet and a weight of about 50 tons.
