6.7" Polished, Fossil Coral Slab - Indonesia

This is a stunning, 6.7" slab made from polished fossil coral from Sumatra, Indonesia. The polishing allows the beautiful, fossilized structure of the coral to easily be seen. This specimen is polished to a mirror-finish.

This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.

These corals are approximately 20 million years old and are the remains of ancient reefs thrust up into the mountains by the collisions of tectonic plates. As these corals fossilized the original organic material was replaced by silica, iron, manganese and other minerals.
