6.6" Partial Sauropod Caudal Vertebra - Colorado
This is a 6.6" long, fossil sauropod caudal vertebra sectonfrom the Morrison Formation, Colorado. It is one end of the body (centrum) of the vertebra. The vertebral are and processes are missing. This specimen has a number of repaired cracks.
Unlike the soft sandstone in other parts of the Morrison Formation, the Sutton Quarry bones come from hard sandstone, resulting in very nice preservation with no crushing.
